What Palestine and our NHS have in common – Palantir
The US tech giant produces spyware, surveillance and military tech for governments around the world. Israel is one of its clients. It has even boasted about testing its AI capabilities in Gaza.
Palantir holds a £240 million contract with the UK Ministry of Defence, awarded without tender, and it won a £330 million seven-year contract with the NHS to manage patient data. The break clause in February 2027 is when the government can cancel the contract.
Campaigners say that public money should not be spent on a company allegedly involved in human rights violations and military activities. Healthcare workers say they cannot honour their ethical obligation to “do no harm” while working with Palantir.
‘Back The Break Clause‘ is a three month UK-wide campaign to push politicians, hospitals and trusts to end the Palantir contract. Amnesty International, Medact and The Good Law Project are urging you to pressure NHS England to end ties.
‘Delete Genocide Tech‘ campaign and petition urges the UK government to end its contracts with tech companies Cisco Systems, Oracle and Palantir, providing essential technology propping up Israel’s military activities.
